Hello Classmates,

The Nonprofit Leaders Association at Tennessee State University, (NLATSU), is a student organization designed to assist its members in achieving success in the nonprofit sector by acquiring valuable education and experience through community outreach programs with local nonprofit organizations.

NLATSU also assists members with reaching the competency levels and certification requirements provided by the Nonprofit Leadership Alliance, which is a national alliance of colleges, universities and nonprofit organizations dedicated to educating, preparing and certifying professionals to strengthen and lead nonprofit organizations. NLATSU seeks to provide future non-profit leaders with the education and resources to further their professional careers.

Membership to the NLATSU requires participation in NLATSU sponsored community outreach and volunteer opportunities, regular attendance of online NLATSU meetings, and membership dues of $10.00 each semester.  We would love to have you join the NLATSU, if you are interested. The next NLATSU meeting will be held at the College of Public Service conference room on February 14, 2011 at 2PM .

If you are not able to attend that meeting and you would like to join the student association, you can come by the College of Public Service and Urban Affairs while I am working on Mondays 8:30-4-:30, Thursdays 8:30-4:30, or Friday 12:00-4:30 You can drop off your membership dues and fill out an information sheet. I will also give you a packet of information about NLATSU.

Please visit NLATSU's website, www.nlaoftsu.blogspot.com, for current NLATSU activities and opportunities. I will also email you a few upcoming activities that you can participate within the community.

Thank you for your interest in NLATSU!

Best Regards,

Lindsay Gilmore
